Weapon overview
The Grinder is a crafted spinning-wheel weapon with short-range melee hits and Bleed. Plan around time spent close to a target and a clear route back out.
- Weapon
- A crafted spiked spinning wheel.
- Attack
- Short-range melee damage with Bleed.
- Positioning
- Needs enemies to remain within reach for sustained contact.
Strengths
- Sustained contact suits enemies you can safely keep within melee reach.
- Bleed gives the weapon a status effect as well as its direct hits.
Weaknesses
- Backing away from a dangerous enemy interrupts close-range contact.
- Crafting it can consume a working weapon before the finished setup is ready.
When to pick it
Your defenses and movement let you stay near enemies long enough to keep hitting.
When to skip it
You are already losing health whenever enemies reach melee range.
Priorities
- Reserve space for the finished weapon and its supports.
- Keep an exit available before committing to close contact.
- Check melee eligibility before spending on a damage support.
Builds and combinations
Grinder is a crafted spiked-wheel weapon introduced in 1.0.
Grinder applies bleeding in melee and gains attack-speed and critical support through continued hits, according to the Japanese item reference.
Keeping a target in reach lets continued-hit bonuses build. A moving crowd that forces you to disengage presents a different problem. Leave room to break contact instead of chasing another hit into danger.
Reserve room for the weapon and its support, and check its hand requirement. Consuming an equipped ingredient can remove both an attack and the recipient your supports were marking. Keep that weapon until the Grinder can take over.
