Item overview

Body Armor adds protection at the cost of movement speed. The tradeoff is most useful when extra armor prevents deaths without making your route through enemies unsafe.

  • Defense
  • Armor
  • Movement penalty
Effect
Adds armor that absorbs incoming hits.
Tradeoff
Slows movement.
Character interaction
Astronaut’s Spacesuit converts armor into critical-hit benefits.

Strengths

  • Adds a buffer against incoming hits.
  • Armor also matters to Astronaut’s character mechanic.

Weaknesses

  • Slower movement can make exits and fuel routes harder.
  • Armor alone does not fix an attack that cannot clear a path.

When to pick it

You need more protection and can afford the movement loss.

When to skip it

You already struggle to escape groups or reach the bus in time.

Priorities

  1. Check whether you can still move out of a crowd after equipping it.
  2. Compare the protection with any attack support it displaces.
  3. On Astronaut, balance the armor benefit with enough movement to escape.

Builds and combinations

Body Armor adds armor that absorbs hits and slows movement. Armor replenishes at the beginning of a day.

Spacesuit connects armor to critical chance, giving Body Armor an offensive use on Astronaut. Version 1.0 changes that modifier, so use the current suit rank rather than an older percentage table.

Shield Generator restores armor under its own conditions. It should not be assumed to remove Body Armor’s movement cost or every recovery limit.
