Strengths

  • Ground fire keeps damaging enemies that cross the area you have covered.
  • A pursuing group can move through the same burning ground while you retreat.

Weaknesses

  • Enemies that leave the flames reduce the value of persistent damage.
  • Fire coverage does not keep an escape route open for you.
  • A support that affects the stream may have different rules for ground fire or Burn.

When to pick it

You can lead pursuing enemies across burning ground without getting boxed in.

When to skip it

You need immediate damage against a target that keeps moving out of your fire, or crafting would leave you without a working weapon.

Priorities

  1. Aim fire across approaching enemies’ path while keeping a clear exit.
  2. Choose supports whose receiver rules explicitly include this weapon or its effects.
  3. Keep your current gun equipped until the craft fits and can attack.

Builds and combinations

Flamethrower is a crafted weapon that shoots a stream and leaves damaging fire. Those fires can apply Burn.

Leave a route that lets enemies cross the fire while you move toward safety. Fire behind you has little value if the way ahead is already blocked. Keep an escape lane during a longer attack.

A modifier may affect the weapon, its fire or a status application differently. Check its accepted recipient before moving other support to make room.

Keep a dependable weapon until the output can fit and be equipped. Consuming your current damage source for a new rarity is a poor trade if the replacement lacks usable coverage.
