Crafting and merging

Craft them all achievement artwork: recipe book

Quick reference

Merging improves matching copies; crafting consumes ingredients to make a different output. Use the workbench recipe view and compare the equipment and support connections you will lose before confirming either action.

Merge two copies of the same item at the same rarity to produce a stronger copy.

Lottery Ticket
Can preserve a crafting ingredient by chance; a saving is not guaranteed.

What to do

  1. Read the displayed recipe before buying or hoarding ingredients.
  2. Check whether the finished weapon can be equipped with the remaining hands and space.
  3. Preserve support coverage when two active copies become one stronger item.
  4. Budget for ingredients being consumed even when Lottery Ticket is present.
  5. Keep the working weapon if the output would leave a worse reload gap or unusable range.

Useful equipment and guides

Workbench recipes

Unlock Item Workbench through base progression. The 1.0 interface sorts recipes by availability and shows ingredient counts and rarity. Use that view before buying parts or consuming equipment.

Crossbow, Flamethrower, Desert Eagle, Mega Shotgun, Grinder and Plasma Hand are craftable. The workbench shows each recipe’s ingredient quantities and rarity requirements.

Merging matching items

Merge two copies of the same item at the same rarity into a stronger copy. Higher-rarity combinations require progression unlocks; inspect the merge preview before committing.

Compare the result with both items you lose. Two supports may be serving separate weapons; one stronger support may not reach both. Preserve the connections as well as the rarity gain.

Crafting costs and weapon support

Before confirming, check what the finished weapon needs for hands, space and support. Keep the working gun if consuming it would leave you unable to clear enemies with the output.

A crafted legendary weapon can hit harder while introducing a dangerous reload or awkward range. When a recipe is incomplete, use the equipment already contributing instead of carrying several unusable paths indefinitely.

Hammer and Lottery Ticket

Hammer upgrades marked items at day end, capped by the Hammer’s rarity. That offers another upgrade route for suitable equipment.

Lottery Ticket can save a crafting ingredient by chance. Budget for the ordinary consumed-ingredient result; a possible saving does not remove the risk of losing an equipped weapon.

Epic copies that will not merge

Matching names alone are insufficient: both copies must also have the same rarity. If two matching epic items will not combine, unlock More Rarities at the base workbench. That unlock adds Super from two epics and Mythic from two legendaries.

Keep three Rubber Ball copies separate while pursuing Penny’s three-ball achievement. Merging two into a stronger ball reduces the number of copies in the bag.

An item-pack unlock changes what can appear in loot. It does not grant every item in the pack immediately, and it is separate from unlocking the crafting bench.
