Weapon overview
Crossbow bolts lodge in enemies and can repeat on-hit effects when triggered. Battery supplies one such effect; Walking Shoes offers a movement activation. The full setup needs both supports connected to the Crossbow.
- Attack
- Bolts stick in enemies.
- Trigger effect
- Lodged bolts repeat on-hit effects when activated.
- Setup
- An on-hit support and an activation source serve different jobs.
Strengths
- Lodged bolts give on-hit effects another way to activate.
- Movement activations can fit a route you already need to walk.
Weaknesses
- An on-hit effect alone does not supply the repeat activation.
- Support marks must reach the Crossbow; owning all three pieces is insufficient.
When to pick it
You have room to connect an on-hit effect and a suitable trigger source.
When to skip it
Collecting the combo would displace the support your current weapon needs to finish the day.
Priorities
- Get the Crossbow attacking before rearranging around the full combo.
- Mark the Crossbow with Battery and Walking Shoes when using that setup.
- Recheck both connections after rotation or merging.
Builds and combinations
Crafting and mergingCheck recipe ingredients and preserve a working attack until the craft is ready.Crossbow is craftable in 1.0. Its bolts stick in enemies and repeat on-hit effects when triggered.
Choose the on-hit effect before building a large trigger arrangement. The Crossbow, Battery and Walking Shoes guide below uses Battery for lightning and Shoes for movement-triggered activation.
Keep a working weapon while gathering ingredients. A Crossbow can still attack without that support, but an unsupported craft does not yet supply the repeat interaction.
The effect support and trigger each need access to the Crossbow. After rotating equipment or changing the co-op edge, check both rather than assuming the earlier arrangement survived.
