Character overview
Chicken uses Mechanical Egg minions to keep attacks going while you move. Plan the route around where those minions are fighting, and retain immediate damage for enemies that reach you before the minion area catches up.
- Signature item
- Mechanical Egg produces mechanical minions.
- Unlock
- Craft three different legendary items.
- Unlock distinction
- Finding legendary items is not the same as crafting them.
Strengths
- Minions can continue attacking in an area while the character moves.
- Mechanical Egg provides a distinct starting engine for a minion-focused run.
- The minion setup can work alongside a separate direct weapon.
Weaknesses
- Minions fighting behind you do not guarantee safety ahead.
- Crowded effects can make enemies and pickups harder to see.
- A modifier supporting a backup gun does not automatically improve the minions.
Choose this character when
Choose Chicken when you enjoy fighting around a minion area and moving back through ground it has cleared.
Choose another character when
Avoid assuming the minions can protect every detour or that all weapon modifiers affect them.
Priorities
- Keep the Egg active and check which modifiers accept its recipient type.
- Loop through cleared ground to collect experience.
- Keep immediate damage or an escape option for enemies already beside the character.
Builds and equipment
Craft three different legendary items to unlock Chicken. The early guides name Minigun, Rocket Launcher and Dynamite as a route to the achievement. Finding those items is not the same as crafting them.
Mechanical Egg produces mechanical minions. Leave enemies in the minions’ attack area while moving toward safety. Check the Egg’s receiver rules before treating a modifier on a backup gun as a minion upgrade.
Keep a route back through cleared ground to collect experience. Minions still attacking behind you won’t make it safe to stop inside a new crowd. They can also obscure enemies and pickups.
Version 1.0 fixes chickens and turrets being attributed to the wrong player. That matters when comparing the round-end results of a shared run.
