Weapon overview
Survivor’s starting gun is a useful weapon to keep supported while collecting a replacement. Battery can add an on-hit effect when its marks reach the Pistol.
- Starting character
- Survivor.
- Early setup
- Can be used alongside Knife while collecting replacements.
- Support example
- Battery can affect an eligible marked gun.
Strengths
- Available immediately on Survivor.
- Existing support can keep it useful while a more demanding craft is incomplete.
Weaknesses
- Aiming for a later weapon can accidentally remove support from the gun still carrying the run.
- Replacing it before the new weapon has support can leave you with less useful damage.
When to pick it
It is your working gun and the alternative is still missing equipment space or support.
When to skip it
A fully equipped replacement already addresses the enemies the Pistol cannot clear.
Priorities
- Keep useful support marks on the Pistol until its replacement works.
- Replace it to solve a specific problem, such as coverage or damage.
- Check both equipment room and support reach before accepting a new gun.
Builds and combinations
Pistol is Survivor’s starting weapon. AurelianoNile recommends keeping it with Knife until useful replacements appear.
Give Pistol’s supports marked access to the gun before reserving the bag for an unfinished craft. Battery adds a named on-hit effect; projectile support offers another way to change coverage. Both still require the gun to be an eligible marked receiver.
Compare reload exposure and movement before switching to Minigun. Players disagree about crafted guns partly because a supported starter can be safer than an unsupported replacement. Keep the Pistol until the new arrangement can cover its downtime.
