Bananaperson

Bananaperson portrait in the game inventory

Character overview

Bananaperson gives a throwable build its first attack immediately. Improve Special Banana before committing to a larger trigger setup, and keep it outside Secret Sauce marks because it counts as Food in 1.0.

  • Timed attacks
  • Food restriction
Signature item
Special Banana, a timed throwable that can use compatible activation support.
Unlock
Pick up the banana costume at base.
Companion throwable
Grenades provide a second throwable to support alongside Banana.
1.0 restriction
Special Banana counts as Food; Secret Sauce deactivates marked Food.

Strengths

  • Starts with the defining attack for a throwable-focused run.
  • Can build on Special Banana before a second throwable appears.
  • Banana and Grenades give compatible throwable support more than one attack to improve.

Weaknesses

  • Secret Sauce marking can deactivate the character attack.
  • Throwable intervals can leave nearby enemies to a backup weapon or movement.
  • Adding more throwables can take space away from the support that makes the starting attack useful.

Choose this character when

Choose Bananaperson when you want a throwable starting point and are willing to check trigger and Food interactions.

Choose another character when

Avoid this plan if your intended support only affects guns, or if Secret Sauce cannot be positioned without marking the Banana.

Priorities

  1. Keep Special Banana active and inside the intended support marks.
  2. Add compatible range or activation support before filling the bag with unrelated effects.
  3. Use Grenades as an optional companion, not an item that the opening must wait for.

Builds and equipment

Pick up the banana costume at base to unlock Bananaperson. Special Banana supplies a timed throwable attack that can use compatible activation support.

Choose support that reaches the Banana and accepts the item. Movement or trigger effects can help its attack intervals; a conventional weapon can cover nearby enemies while that setup develops. Gun-only buffs belong to that backup weapon, not automatically to the Banana.

In Falduna’s survival thread, n0cturnal_RL recommends Banana with Grenades. Keep movement and a backup attack while assembling the throwable support.

Version 1.0 classifies Special Banana as Food. Secret Sauce deactivates marked Food, so keep the Banana outside its selector. A poison arrangement can otherwise switch off the character’s defining attack.

Walking Shoes can activate marked triggerable items as you move; Cogwheel connects activations between marked triggerable recipients. Start with the Banana and Grenade build before expanding the chain. Battery can add lightning to the marked Banana’s hits, while a Pistol supplies a backup attack with its own support.

For the Food conflict, use the Secret Sauce positioning guide. It covers keeping Sauce’s extraction benefits while leaving Special Banana active.
