How the combination works
Secret Sauce adds poison and extraction benefits, but disables marked Food. Keep Special Banana, The Carver's Grin and other Food you need outside its selector while marking the eligible non-Food attack.
- Offensive effect
- Adds poison damage to marked eligible equipment.
- Route effect
- Reduces fuel requirements and speeds departure.
- Food drawback
- Food inside the selector is deactivated rather than exempted because it is a character item.
- 1.0 Food list
- Coffee, Special Banana, Fresh Pumpkin and The Carver's Grin explicitly count as Food.
Priorities
- Place the intended non-Food recipient inside Sauce's marks.
- Move needed Food outside those marks without breaking its other supports.
- If damage drops immediately after adding Sauce, inspect the character item before buying another weapon.
- Keep the original setup if the bag cannot preserve both the Food attack and the intended Sauce benefit.
Useful equipment and guides
Carver pumpkin turret buildThe Carver's Food-tagged character equipment also needs protection from Sauce.
Fuel and extractionExplains the extraction benefits that may make Sauce worth fitting.Secret Sauce helps extraction and adds poison to marked equipment. Marked Food is deactivated instead. Version 1.0 explicitly counts Coffee, Special Banana, Fresh Pumpkin and The Carver’s Grin as Food.
For Banana or pumpkin setups, inspect the character item before assigning Sauce. A signature item is not exempt from the Food rule simply because it supplies most of the damage.
Secret Sauce positioning
Put the eligible non-Food attack inside Sauce’s marks, then inspect the other marked cells. Move Food you need outside the selector and preserve its existing support. If that layout won’t fit, keep the original setup rather than accepting the disabled item.
A Food-based character can still use Sauce when the layout keeps both effects active.
A new item, merge or bag extension can change the marks. If damage suddenly falls after adding Sauce, inspect the character item before buying another weapon. It may have been deactivated rather than outscaled.
