Build summary
Prepare reload support before crafting Minigun. Keep your current gun until the complete replacement can clear safely across its firing cycle.
- Core equipment
- Minigun + compatible reload support
- Placement
- Give reload support a direct marking path to the gun.
- Requirements
- An expensive transition should replace a complete working setup.
- Fallback
- Retain Pistol, another supported gun or a melee weapon.
Strengths
- Gives a clear transition plan for an existing gun run.
- Upgrade choices follow the actual firing or reload problem.
Weaknesses
- High fire rate does not remove reload downtime.
- Crafting too soon can consume the weapon keeping you alive.
When to pick it
You have the hands, space and support to equip the finished gun.
When to skip it
The new gun would spend long unsafe periods reloading.
Priorities
- Keep the current gun while collecting equipment.
- Fit reload support before committing ingredients.
- Address reload gaps separately from damage while firing.
Useful equipment and guides
Equip Minigun with reload support before consuming the gun it replaces. Survivor can use this plan; other characters need enough spare hands and backpack space.
Tort liked crafting Minigun from guns already in use. Raz O’Xane warned that it needed several support items, and TomarEmerald reported dying after a switch left too much reload downtime.
Reload support
Start with direct marking before trying a repeater arrangement. Preserve the reload support and the positions it needs when fitting the Minigun. A second weapon can cover a gap only if the remaining hand capacity allows it.
Check the workbench ingredients before consuming your current gun. If the new arrangement still has a dangerous gap, delay the craft. The Pistol, another supported handgun, or a melee fallback can keep collecting loot meanwhile.
Damage and reload upgrades
If the gun clears enemies while firing but leaves you dashing away during reload, address the reload or change weapons. If it fails to clear even while firing, compare damage and projectile support instead. More projectile damage cannot help while the gun is silent.
Keep movement available in either case. Filling the last useful slot with offense can leave you unable to survive the next reload or return to the bus.
Endless Mode
Use a supported replacement only when it improves the complete firing cycle. Preserve working connections after each merge, and keep the fallback until the Minigun can take over.
AurelianoNile reported a late Endless run with extensive supporting equipment. That report does not describe the performance of a newly crafted, unsupported Minigun.
