Bring the bus back achievement artwork, associated with the Sheriff unlock

Build summary

Sheriff rewards reloads; Sawed-off Shotgun and Yo-Yo turn that mechanic into a close-range gun setup.

  • Reload
  • Solo
  • Normal
Core equipment
Sheriff + Sawed-off Shotgun + Yo-Yo
Placement
Use Yo-Yo’s distant marked positions for the Shotgun.
Requirements
The reload support must fit before the switch.
Fallback
Use a supported Pistol until the combination is ready.

Strengths

  • Uses the Sheriff reload mechanic.
  • A handgun opening gives a practical route into the setup.

Weaknesses

  • Short range requires closer positioning.
  • Reload downtime leaves gaps between attacks.

When to pick it

You have Sheriff and the reload-support pieces.

When to skip it

Your current gun works and the Shotgun would leave a longer unsafe reload.

Priorities

  1. Unlock Sheriff with a first victory.
  2. Connect Yo-Yo to the Shotgun before adding more damage.
  3. Keep room to move during reloads.

Useful equipment and guides

Use Sheriff, Sawed-off Shotgun and Yo-Yo reload support. The badge rewards reloads; Yo-Yo addresses the gap between magazines. Get the reload connection working before spending the rest of the backpack on damage.

Unlock Sheriff by winning a run. Until the Shotgun and support are ready, keep a functioning handgun. A Pistol is the fallback Malakim preferred in the original ranged discussion.

Yo-Yo positioning

The player discussion calls out Yo-Yo’s farther marked positions. Arrange the Shotgun to receive the intended reload effect, rotating the support when needed. Adjacent equipment does not automatically receive the strongest bonus.

After merging or replacing the gun, check that this connection survives. A higher rarity won’t compensate for a lost reload bonus.

Reload gaps and range

Watch the whole magazine cycle. The gun must clear enough space while firing for you to move safely during the reload. If enemies reach you before the next magazine, improve reload coverage or return to a gun with a safer cycle.

Short range remains a cost after reload improves. Keep room to retreat from bosses and fast approaches. A longer-range gun is a sensible replacement when the Shotgun forces you closer than the run can support.

Stay with the handgun rather than forcing the Shotgun. Another reload item can fill Yo-Yo’s role only if it affects the gun and fits its marking. Extra damage and projectile support are optional additions once the reload is manageable.

Version 1.0 fixes Sheriff Star bonus shots consuming ammunition. Earlier ammo calculations may therefore be wrong for the current version.
