Weapon overview
SMG supplies frequent ranged hits in a 2 × 2 footprint. It can use on-hit support such as Battery, with reload support handling the gap between magazines.
- Acquisition
- Available in the starting item pool.
- Footprint
- 2 × 2 cells.
- Support condition
- The equipped gun must occupy the support’s marked cells.
Strengths
- Fast shots provide repeated chances for on-hit effects.
- No item-pack prerequisite is needed for ordinary finds.
Weaknesses
- The square footprint may displace support when replacing a narrow gun.
- Rate of fire does not shorten the reload by itself.
Priorities
- Fit the gun with the support marks that reach it.
- Compare reload time after placing Yo-Yo.
- Use Battery or Rubber Ball only when their selectors include the gun.
Builds and combinations
SMG is a fast-firing ranged weapon with a 2 × 2 footprint. It belongs to the starting item pool, so it does not require the Army Footlocker unlock used by AK-47.
Battery gives marked hits a chance to create lightning. Rubber Ball changes ranged projectile bounce, and Bicycle Pump improves the marked weapon’s damage and projectile size. A high attack rate gives on-hit effects more opportunities to activate, but the gun must still hit a target.
Reload and placement
Place Yo-Yo so its marks reach SMG, then compare the gun’s reload tooltip as their separation changes. The 2 × 2 footprint can make a different support arrangement necessary when replacing Pistol or AK-47.
The weapon comparison separates direct fire, trigger-based attacks and persistent damage. The Minigun build covers the later crafting decision.
