Quick reference
Hank and Scoop demand dash timing, Dumpling fills space with damage terrain, and Mr. Kyde reduces safe ground with bombs. Keep movement and boss reach alongside map-clearing damage.

Dash capacity and dash timing differ
You have enough damage to reach a boss phase with a dangerous sweeping or repeated attack.
Raise capacity
Satisfy its marked-footwear condition if you need another stored dash.
Preserve movement
Reach a safe lane before the next telegraph resolves.
Save the escapeDo not spend the final dash on a marginal pickup before the attack.
An extra stored dash only helps when it is available for the next danger. More damage does not erase the attack telegraph.
Hank: save a dash for the laser
The Japanese notebook describes an opening of ranged attacks and charges, followed by a phase in which the head and body act separately. The head’s sweeping all-direction laser is the important escape check. Do not spend the final available dash collecting experience immediately before that attack.
Spring can raise dash capacity through its marked footwear condition. A larger stamina reserve helps only if the next dash is available when the telegraph appears. Recovery and movement remain distinct from the number of dashes you can store.
Scoop: repeated spikes in the second phase
Scoop becomes more demanding after its phase transition. The notebook identifies repeated all-direction spike volleys as the main danger. Leaving ordinary clearing support untouched while gaining an extra useful escape can be more valuable than another minor damage upgrade.
Keep enough range to attack while repositioning. Melee still has to reach the target without crossing a volley merely to maintain damage. Use an opening in the attack pattern rather than standing close because the earlier phase was manageable.
Dumpling: leave the damage terrain
Dumpling jumps, fires projectiles and leaves dangerous ground. Later subdivisions create additional simultaneous attacks. A route that avoids one body can still cross the terrain or projectiles left by another.
Lightning or other coverage can reach several targets, but this does not justify standing inside overlapping hazards. Keep an exit lane when repositioning. Version 1.0 fixes Dumpling dying while a subdivision remained, so an old clip ending that phase early is not a current kill method.
Mr. Kyde: read the bomb lanes
Mr. Kyde throws bombs whose cross-shaped explosions reduce safe ground. Later direct approaches put pressure on the spaces left between them. Read the indicated explosion area before moving toward a pickup; distance from the boss alone does not make a tile safe.
A damage upgrade cannot reopen ground already covered by the next explosion. Maintain enough movement to leave a threatened lane, then fire from the next safe position. Avoid routing through several bomb indicators at once simply to keep close range.
Laz and the Headquarters finale
Laz is the fifth normal final boss added in 1.0. The historical notebook predates that fight and is not a Laz attack script. The HQ guide covers the distinct protected finale and its objectives.
For all fights, check the actual in-game telegraph before committing a dash. The patterns above come from a dated firsthand notebook, with the known 1.0 Dumpling change applied; they do not prescribe fixed attack timestamps or a guaranteed repeating sequence.
