Weapon decisions

Reload time versus attack speed

Yo-Yo symbol

Quick reference

Attack speed empties a magazine sooner. Reload support shortens the interval when the gun cannot fire; compare the complete cycle before spending another support slot.

Compare the complete firing cycle

A gun that kills quickly while firing can still let a crowd through during every reload. Inspect magazine size, attack speed and Reload Time on the equipped weapon after its support has been applied. Faster attacks change the firing part of the cycle; they do not by themselves remove the reload.

For a planning example, assume a gun fires ten shots over two seconds, then reloads for two seconds. Assume every shot hits for 100 damage, there are always targets, no critical hits or secondary effects occur, and the same cycle repeats. These values define an illustrative firing cycle.

Change from that starting stateFiring timeReload timeDamage per cycleAverage damage per second

Double firing speed1 second2 seconds1,000About 333
Halve reload time2 seconds1 second1,000About 333
Double damage per shot2 seconds2 seconds2,000500

The first two upgrades have the same average in this example but different survival consequences. Faster firing spends two-thirds of the cycle reloading. The shorter reload leaves only one-third without gunfire. The damage upgrade can kill a dangerous target sooner while preserving the original two-second gap. Choose against the enemies actually reaching you.

Position Yo-Yo before switching guns

Yo-Yo’s distant marked positions improve its reload benefit. Inspect the receiver after moving it; visible proximity is not the test. Wi-Fi Repeater can help transfer useful support where its own selector and the receiving weapon permit it.

A Minigun also asks for movement and enough room for its support. Keep the previous gun until the complete replacement fits. Selling the old attack before arranging reload coverage can leave the next map substantially harder even when the new tooltip shows more damage.

Sheriff and short magazines

Sheriff adds shots during reloads. Version 1.0 fixes those bonus shots consuming ammo. That makes a reload event part of Sheriff’s offense, but it does not remove the need to reach the target or survive between useful hits. The Sheriff build compares that interaction with Shotgun’s short range.

The supported Minigun build covers the craft transition. For an example of how much support an exceptional run accumulated, use the historical Sheriff study rather than treating its late inventory as a normal opening.
